Swimwear: Fashion or Function?

Now that we're safely in the so-called dog days of summer, sitting by the pool (with my sunscreen on, of course) is about the only thing I feel like doing. When I dunk in to cool off, I also try to do a few laps or tread some water so that my lazy day isn't too lazy. This half-workout/half-lounging scenario always leaves me in a bit of a pickle: Do I dress in my cutest and most flattering swimsuit or do I wear the suit that will stay put while I attempt a flip-turn? (I've never quite mastered that move despite how many times I watch film of this inspirational swimmer.) Usually I go somewhere between the two options and choose my suit from about three seasons ago that's a little faded and pilly, but makes me feel good and keeps the girls in place. Erin has also found a fashionable yet functional suit to call her own. How about you?

Have a great and safe holiday weekend in your favorite suit!—Jenn

Don't get panicky about the sunscreen- it turns out the sun delivers essential vitamin D, and vitamin D has major health benefits. Here's an intro:

(Don't miss the massage therapist's perspective at the bottom.)

Sun = Good
Too much sun = Bad
